Ironstone Collections

I have a small collection of Ironstone and I've collected some inspirations from other collections.  I love the idea of Ironstone against a brightly colored wall or bookcase.

Oh, the Weather Outside is Frightful...

Today's the perfect day for a warm fire.  Going to have hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies by the fireplace after the kids go to sleep. 

(p.s. The best thing we ever did was put a gas fireplace in our family room-super warm & soooo convenient)

Just Settled Down for a Long Winter's Nap

On my wish list for Christmas week is to spend an hour in bed reading.  Something about winter makes me want bed curtains.

Wreaths

I like the idea of Christmas wreaths indoors- you can add one to almost any room to give it a holiday feeling.  Beautiful against a window (especially in groups) or in a bedroom (bonus points if you're lucky enough to have a fireplace in your bedroom).

Friday's "I Never"...

The great part of decorating is that there are as many styles as there are types of people.  While I appreciate many different types of design, there are certain choices I will never make out of personal preference.  Which leads me to trying out a new Friday feature:  "I Never", a collection of design choices I will never make.

First up, the Egg Chair in all its incarnations.  It makes me think of 'Mork and Mindy', a look I am not trying to emulate.  And it seems like you can only slouch in it.  And that trying to get up out of it will cause flashbacks of being 9 months pregnant.

Classic Family Room

I like how Southern Living showed both views of this family room.  The components of the room are very traditional and classy, but it seems like it needs just a little kick.  Colorful Pillows?

Home Library

It's not viable for most of us to devote an entire room for the purpose of a library, but I love the idea of taking a wall of a room and devoting it to a beautiful bookshelf and reading corner.  Ahhhh, to dream...
